Due to the vast amount of information on the web site, which encompasses a lifetime of fly fishing, I have decided to organize this information into a much more accessible form. To meet that goal I am publishing a book entitled “Creel Zero”. The book contains much of the narrative from the site as well as the majority of the “Flies of the Week”. The book, sells for $24.95 and can be purchased from me by phone 717.713.8282 or A nominal shipping and handling fee will be added to those books requiring shipment.

I thank you for your interest and support over the past years and I sincerely hope you will find the book a worthwhile addition to your library as well as a good source of fly fishing information.
Timely website updates involving the Home Page Photos, the Recent News and Happenings, and the Fly of the Week links will resume after February 14, 2014.

The TVA held the downstream flow from the South Holston Dam near Bristol, Tennessee to about 200 cfs daily during a recent fly fishing trip. Results.....improved wading access and splendid fishing conditions.

Size 20-22 olives would appear around mid morning and be present until dusk. All trout in the South Holston river are wild and even a "little guy" surprisingly put up a good fight.

A size 22 Flashback Bead Head Pheasant Tail nymph (see Fly of the Week) or a size 20 Blue-Winged Olive (BWO) Parachute dry fly consistently caught trout. Our only decision was to fish subsurface or surface as both methods were successful.

Once again, a portable fly tying kit comes in handy on destination fly fishing trips.
